3 Months

Crew James turned three months old on Monday. What?! It is so fun to see him to really begin to notice and interact with his surroundings! We measured him on his activity mat and he's 24 inches long. At his weight check a week and a half ago he weighed 15 pounds, 15 ounces, so I'm sure he's well over the 16 pound mark now. He's already doubled his birthweight and then some! He has the sweetest laugh and smile; we can't get enough of it.

Milestones: Crew finally discovered his toys! One day around week 12 he started looking at them, and the next day he was touching and grabbing them. He also reached out and touched Poopsie's fur for the first time. He is really starting to notice everyone and everything around him. The nurse at his weight-check commented on how he was really checking everything out. Because of this new heightened awareness, he is much more jumpy and easily startled by loud noises or sudden movements. He's getting better head control, but still HATES tummy time. We're working on that! On his three month birthday he slept his longest stretch yet-- 7 and a half hours! Yeah! He hasn't done that since, but he's been sleeping a little better (*knock on wood).

Likes: He loves being outside and looking at the trees, looking at himself in the mirror, and being naked. When we talk and sing to him he coos and laughs. He thinks it's hilarious when Daddy sticks his tongue out at him. His fingers are his favorite thing right now, and he still loves baths, peekaboo, and car and stroller rides. We've also started reading books and he loves looking at the pictures.

Dislikes: Silent reflux :(, tummy time, getting his pajammers on after his bath, and mom's rapping skills.

Baby Crew,

You have no idea how incredible you are to us. We sometimes just look at  you and think, "how did we get so lucky?" You are 50% Mommy, 50% Daddy, and 100% perfect to us. Please don't grow up too fast. Happy three months, little man.

Love you forever,
Mommy and Daddy

P.S. This is how we feel about you growing up...
