Moving Day

We are all moved in!! Saturday was the big moving day. We had a lot of help, which made the day go seamlessly. Jake and April made the trip to help us carry all of our bajillion boxes. Our moms helped clean our old apartment before we hand in the keys, Iceman assembled our new grill (Thanks Ice and D!!), and Dad helped Jer hang our TVs. Fact: Teamwork makes the dream work.

I head back to work tomorrow. It feels a little bittersweet. I'm sad summer is coming to an end, but I'm very excited to meet my new class and see what the new school year brings. Hope you all have a good week!

Getting used to the place

It has been so fun living in our new home.  Jeremy and I are over the moon with excitement. Poopsie, however, has not been the most excited. The first day she seemed so stressed and anxious. She was panting excessively, doing her piggy snort nonstop, and would not take her eyes off of me for a second. Yesterday was a bit better, and this morning better yet. I think once we have everything moved from the apartment she'll be much more comfortable.

The Big Day

Five months and one day ago we broke ground on our house, and today, the day we've been waiting for has come. Our house is officially our house! We are on cloud 9!

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I love ya, Tomorrow, You're only a day away!

Tomorrow's the big day! Jer and I will be getting the keys to our home. Can you believe it?! It feels a bit surreal. That means tonight is officially our last night of apartment living. We were talking the other day about how long we've been living in apartments (or dorms). For me, it's been 10 years, and for Jeremy, it's been 12!  Wowwie wow wow.

It's been quite the ride building this home together. We've had ups and downs (mostly ups), but one thing's for sure, I couldn't imagine having done it with anyone but my husband and best friend, Jeremy. We've been so thankful to have so many loved ones help us out throughout this process, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We love you!

The driveway is finished!

Badeep, badeep, badeep! That's all, folks!

The last big step in our house-building journey is complete, and we are oh-so-happy! We have a real driveway now-- a great one that I can see our future children riding their tricycles and scooters on. :) I can't wait to put up a hoop & school my hubby at bball on that driveway. 

The builder has pushed up our closing date to Tuesday now. So, if all goes as planned, the house will be ours at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon! Yeah!

Our project today was to lay the pavers alongside the driveway. They'll be pouring the blacktop on Thursday. Mom and Dad stopped over after work and helped us out with the pavers. My dad also put on our house numbers for us, and Mom swept up our dusty garage. Thanks for the help, guys!

We love our new carpet! It's pretty and soft and makes our home feel so cozy! Saul, our carpet installer, will do the upstairs carpeting tomorrow. Woo HOO for carpet!

Kaylee's Going to be a Senior!

Where does the time go??? I can't believe my little cous, Kaylee, will be a senior this year. I babysat her and her brother, Tyler (who will be a freshmen this year... crazy!), when they were little. It seems like only yesterday she was running around playing with her favorite imaginary friend, Toopee.  The other day I took some pictures for Kaylee at her house and my parents'. She sure is beautiful, isn't she?!
